Venison is the healthiest of all red meats, it contains less than 2% fat (that's less than skinless chicken), contains fewer calories than other red meat varieties, and it also has the highest protein content of any major meat. It is a great source of iron, delivering more available iron than any other domestic meat, and also contains high levels of Vitamins B6 and B12, zinc, potassium, phosphorus, riboflavin and niacin.

Venison tastes like beef but in a more complex way. The flavour is stronger, with a somewhat sweet taste to it that will remind you of both lamb and beef in terms of flavour and texture. Venison meat makes a delicious stew but also lends itself to succulent steaks, ribs, roasts, sausages, and burgers.
